Professor of Multisensory Interfaces in the Department of Computer Science at University College London (UCL) and co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) of Hynt Labs Limited. My research investigates the integration of touch, taste, and smell as interaction modalities in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), with applications spanning VR, automotive, and health/wellbeing. My most recent projects include an EPSRC/NIHR Smell Care project that validated a digital smell training solution through a real-world deployment; an EU FET Touchless.AI project studying novel touchless interfaces for social interaction, a UKRI TCC - Textile Circularity Centre, and an InnovateUK project OWSleep on developing digital scent tech for improved sleep quality. She published over 100 articles, including high impact journals like Nature Scientific Report, and leading HCI journals like ToCHI, IJHCS, and the premier HCI conferences ACM UIST, CHI.
Carlos Velasco is associate professor at the Department of Marketing, BI Norwegian Business School (Norway), where he co-founded the Centre for Multisensory Marketing. Carlos received his D.Phil. in Experimental Psychology from Oxford University, after which he worked in a number of postdoctoral and consulting projects in Europe, Asia, and North and South America. His work is situated at the intersection between Psychology, Marketing, and Human–Computer Interaction, and focuses on understanding, and capitalizing on, our multisensory experiences and their guiding principles.
